Senior DevOps Engineer – Development

XeroQ is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to be placed with one of our upcoming clients as their dedicated engineering resource. You will work directly inside the client's team on development-focused DevOps work, while remaining accountable to XeroQ's standards and client satisfaction. This role exists because we are building a bench of vetted engineers ready to hit the ground running the moment client engagements open — candidates who clear this process are first in line.

What you will do

• Work embedded in the client's engineering team, handling DevOps responsibilities across the development lifecycle as directed by their project needs.
• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure to support development, staging, and production environments.
• Collaborate daily with the client's developers and other technical staff during US Eastern Time business hours.
• Keep XeroQ's account manager regularly informed on project status, blockers, and anything that affects client satisfaction.
• Participate in onboarding at XeroQ's Lagos office during the first two weeks of engagement.
• Take on additional DevOps responsibilities as the client's project scope is defined — full project and client details are shared after hire and onboarding.

What we look for

• Strong, demonstrable experience in cloud engineering, with hands-on work visible on your résumé across at least one major cloud platform.
• A work history that shows you have operated as an embedded or cross-functional team member, not only in isolated individual-contributor roles.
• Ability to work reliably on a US Eastern Time schedule from Lagos, Nigeria.
• Access to stable internet and electricity at your primary work location — this is a remote role outside of the onboarding period, so infrastructure is your responsibility.
• Clear written and spoken English communication, given that daily coordination with a client team is central to the job.
• Based in Lagos, Nigeria, or able to be present there from day one.

Nice to have

• Prior experience working with international clients or distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes beyond a single provider.
• A background that includes both infrastructure and some development work, rather than infrastructure alone.
