Senior DevOps Engineer — Lagos, NG
We are looking for senior DevOps and cloud engineers to take interviews with our potential clients. This is not a software development role. Your job is to understand what the requirement is, and convert those conversations into signed clients. The role is part-time and fully remote, running on US working hours.
What you will do
- Hold technical discovery and evaluation calls with prospective clients, answering detailed questions about your previous product or platform and how it is architected and deployed.
- Given your technical capabilities into clear, credible explanations for engineering leads, CTOs, and other technical decision-makers.
- Identify whether a prospect's environment and requirements are a genuine fit for XeroQ's requirement, and communicate that assessment internally.
- Coordinate with XeroQ's internal team to relay prospect feedback, flag blockers, and hand off newly landed clients cleanly.
- Maintain consistent availability during agreed US working hours for scheduled calls and follow-ups.
What we look for
- 7+ years of demonstrable hands-on background in DevOps or cloud engineering — verifiable through past roles, projects, or contributions.
- Comfort explaining infrastructure and deployment concepts to both technical and semi-technical audiences.
- Based in Nigeria, with the ability to work reliably on US time.
- Strong written and spoken English, sufficient for professional client-facing communication.
- Prior experience in a client-facing, pre-sales, or solutions engineering capacity.
Nice to have
- Experience working with US-based companies or clients in a remote capacity.
- Familiarity with DevOps, Cloud Providers, DevSecOps.
Compensation
- Probationary period (2 weeks): $60 per hour
- After the probationary period: $4,000 per month
- Bonus: $500 per successful client engagement
